CVS Pharmacy and Commitment To Real Beauty
Kudos to CVS Pharmacy!
CVS Pharmacy is playing a big role in making the beauty industry take a second look at healthy beauty standards by setting themselves as a leader in this area.
According to a press release and CVS’s homepage and now the CVS Beauty Mark beauty line, they are passionate about the beauty industry and its impact on overall health and well- being.
CVS wants to make it their commitment to present their images in the most of healthy ways by not altering their beauty images in any way. The company is saying they will not alter or change a person’s shape, size, proportion, skin or eye color, or enhance or change wrinkles, lines or otherwise a person’s characteristics in any way digitally on any of their labels, marketing, ads, or catalog /newspaper circulars or in commercials and internet.
CVS and CVS Beauty Mark want their customers to feel good while they shop. The company celebrates authenticity and diversity of the community they serve.
The CVS Beauty Mark watermark introduction will appear on beauty imagery this year (2018) and with a goal of all imagery reflecting this by 2020. It also will require eventually that all other beauty companies in their store also have this transparent labeling as well, or risk not being sold there.
It is very hard to argue with the sad statistics they had posted, for example:
2 out of 3 women strongly agree that the media has set unrealistic standards of beauty!
80% of women feel worse about themselves after seeing a beauty ad!
90% of girls ages 15-17 want to change at least 1 aspect of their physical appearance!
This is a really great commitment to real beauty, setting the precedence to change it for the better!
