90 Second Keto Bread Recipe

Image
Hello Spring ! Welcome to renewal If you are like me, you went way off your Keto or Low Carb lifestyle during the holidays, right? Every year I do go off because who doesn't want to taste a sweet treat or maybe indulge in fantastic carb laddened cream sauce...and then every year I beat myself up because I either added X number of pounds or inches to my body and waistline. This year I've done something different; I've stopped that! NO, I did cheat, I did indulge in rich extravigant foods but this time I gave myself grace. I didn't allow myself to feel guilty or sad about it, instead I asked myself to up my level of activity when I did not exactly follow my lifestyle foods. I added more steps or exercised more. I have been more gentle with myself and I am finding that it is working. It works in the sense that I have less desire to cheat and it helped me to go back to my Keto lifestyle easier. I stopped makin...

Body -Weight Exercises; The Plank

Image
Did you know that when a person has to balance themselves by using only themselves to hold themslves up provides muscle and cardio benefits? Think of the plank or sometimes known as the abdominal bridge. The plank originated in the armed services, yoga and pilates. When one does this exercise it promotes intense core and stability in the apbdominal and forearm regions, back and shoulders of the body, along with the glutes, quadriceps and hamstrings. That's alot of body areas to work all at the same time for the same amount of intensity. There are a great many variations of the plank. Let's start at the very beginner methods. *Keep in mind that any plank can be modified for handicap or injury. Begin with 10 seconds of regular straight-arm, or bent arm plank. Everyday add 10 seconds to it. Work all the way up to a one-minute hold. Continue to add seconds to your time or add variations: like shoulder taps, or very tough leg "burpies". Here's a great chart of dif...

Green Tea & Resistance Exercise

Image
Green tea photo credit: kissclipart.com Green Tea and Resistance Exercise So much has been studied and so much misinformation is out on green tea itself. Scientists do definitively know a few things for example: A person that is most likely to include tea drinking into their daily regime is most aptly already living a healthy lifestyle.  Therefore, this inclusion is better for their health than possibly those who do not include tea as part of their daily drink choice. photo credit: 123rf.com Scientists continue to test and try to clarify the questions that the tea drinking and the exercise/diet community have.   Until as late as last year, debate still remains around the idea that tea (preferably green tea) “spikes” the metabolism and that will cause weight loss.   As reported through the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition that tea is helpful in health and they go on to include that researchers from the United States Dept. of AG, National...

Cyclo Cobra Wireless Earbuds Review

Image
MaryCaliendoPhoto2019 Here's a quick review of the Cyclo Cobra Wireless Earbuds, and as everyone knows I'm not the world's greatest Tech or electronics guru. As much as I try to stay in the loop, the majority of the time I'll ask someone nearby like a teenager or a husband for help. So anything Bluetooth or wireless in general seemed to be way out of my expertise field, but it appears that my fear prevented me from even trying anything new. So whenever it had a wire attached to it or a book of instructions, I immediately just asked for help.  Over the years as I dabbled more in the technology sector the products became easier and easier to figure out on my own!  How about that?😃 So for this product, I tried to sync it first and ask questions later! The first step charging the earbuds = easy!  Once charged I moved to the second step which was to sync them using Bluetooth to my phone, I turned on Bluetooth and found the name and then it was synced. Again, easy...

Pain and Ways To Ease Symptoms

Image
The Pain Scale Pain is defined as an unpleasant sensory and emotional experience and symptom of an underlying condition. But experiencing pain can be your friend. Why?  According to Psychology Today, it is the "body's wake-up call" to pay attention and to reactivate the body sense. We are at attention when we feel the slightest pain. It does call us to perhaps stop lifting items the way we were or to understand the limitations of how many times you can walk the stairs due to your "bum" knee. Pain is a subject that would/could take an unlimited amount of articles to even begin to understand the subject matter. Each person may experience something different depending on the underlying cause/causes or diseases and course of treatments or approaches or lack thereof. It Affects Everyone Pain affects everyone at some point in their lives. Pain, whether it be chronic or acute will affect some 87 million people each year in the United States. That sounds ...

Warding Off Alzheimer's Holistically

Image
Photo Credit: minddisorders.com Over the years in my content writing, I have done a lot of articles on the subject of Alzheimer's disease, functions of the brain and ways to keep it healthy. Many things have changed, like the studies regarding the advancement of drugs, but some things have never changed. What It Is Alzheimer's is a disease that impairs memory, behavior, and thinking. The most common form is called dementia. Dementia affects things like memory, reasoning, thinking and cognitive functioning. It is a complex disease. It is characterized by the accumulation of two types of protein in the brain: Tangle (tau) and Plaques (amyloid-beta). Science is still not sure why that only 1% of people afflicted have gene relation only (meaning all genes that relate to amyloid beta production are present). Then in all other 99% of cases, amyloid and tau are associated with things like brain inflammation, vascular factors, and LIFESTYLE. Lifestyle Changes C...
