Thursday Thoughts and Tiny Helpers

The current state of affairs in the world, especially in the United States, calls attention to truly random thoughts I will share here today; I hope though, that this post will find a bit of yourself here and even afford a smile or two. The chaos of the world makes me attend to my self-care routines a bit more.In order to unwind I have done some face masks, and foot masks and even a manicure while adding in more exercise and healthy sleep and eating. How about you? My favorite exercises of Tai Chi are great for restoring and revitalizing myself. The exerises are thought provoking and meditative.
I was able to host a family event afternoon with my children and grandchildren. Remember when someone said "find your Joy"? That's exactly what I find when I seek joy.Family. We came together had food, gifts, desserts and laughs. There were yard games, and bubbles and backyard patio conversation over wine. Lastly, and never the least, still the highlight of my day were the tiny helpers with soft hands gently building a simple and beautiful miniture fairy garden.
These sweet grandchildren helped each other build a place of joy. I found these little garden minitures in the back of an old box as I cleaned the garage, and thought why haddened I had the grandkids help me with this? I presented this fairy garden to them and they instantly wanted to build it! I was so happy. They dillegently set everything out of the box and into a wooden tray to carry outside. The kids professed that each time they come to my house they will go "check it out", and during quiet conversation they even said they might wish a wish upon it. So sweet.
and...
So here really quickly is a simple poem I have written with them in mind:
Tiny Helpers
In a world that is so calloused, they show innocence. A fairy garden ballast built by soft hands.
That will see rain and thunder the winds will strain, a tree above willl sunder.
But the tiny helper's hearts will bear witness smiling at their art. They will permit us to dream and outsmart,
the Chaotic world in exchange for underpinning their innocence so pearled, this garden is so stunning~
I stand before it, they've long gone home, I am thankful, proud, resolute and hopeful. Thank you to my grandchildren, that they may know our future will be bright because of them. They make my face smile and this is the best self-care medication anywhere.
