The coast itself is dotted with a trio of fabulous
destinations. They are Amalfi, Positano, and Ravello; each of them can boast of
fabulous food, fabulous people, crystal blue waters, and groves of lemons.
Many a movie theatre movie was filmed amongst the
beauty that is the Amalfi coast. They were plentiful from the late 1930’s-2012
(to name a few). Italian filmmakers and Hollywood chose these destinations
with actors and actresses like Sophia Loren, Gina Lollobrigida, Audrey Hepburn,
and Humphrey Bogart to Robert Downy, Jr., Matt Damon, Jude Law, Gwyneth
Paltrow, Helen Hunt, and Marisa Tomei, again to name just a few.

Tourists can
get around on foot, or catching a bus, or going on a ferry, and last but not
least the Amalfi coast is drivable, but be on the lookout for the fabulous
Vespa scooter. They seem to be everywhere and they tend to snag traffic! One can rent a personal Vespa to get around and
they make for a tourist dream.
Lastly, but never least, there are the beaches.
There are many that dot the coastline and they are famous for many different
things. On the Amalfi coast, there are types of “inlets or bays” and natural
rock formations that come together and form these beaches.

The most famous beach is called the Marina Grande of
Positano, thanks to its central location and notable jet setters that hang out here
along with the fabulous weather from June to September make it a top tourist
destination beach. It is usually crowded and the beach has dark sand and
pebbles. There may be topless females here, but it is not the norm. However,
wearing a bikini is. According to most leave the one-piece at home!

A second highly touted beach is that of Vietri Sul
Mare. It is a white sandy beach that can be driven to and is definitely a kid-friendly area.

While some travel writers’ state, there is too many tourists;
they also state there are still a great many seasonal parts of the Amalfi coast
that are quite private. The writers show a consensus that a suggestion to wanting
peace and quiet is to hire a private driver, or taking a private tour. Seeking
out the concierge in your hotel may be helpful to attain this task.
No matter what, traveling to this destination will
leave you breathless and most likely wanting to return.
