Staying Kind To Yourself

Dashes of beauty found basking in the sun. the flowers do the natural thing they reach higher and higher and they face the source of their growth dead-on; the sun. If we do what our bodies want to do most people would opt for sitting on the couch with a lap filled with carb-ladened goodies. So instead we have to set goals and stay motivated to achieve our true growth.

No One Said It Would Be Easy

The hardest thing that most of us need, is the last bit of "push" to get us over the hump to stay "with it" (whatever your goals may be).  It does not have to be fitness related. It can be studying as with students, or job-related, like writing a policy for your company or just simply organizing your household; perhaps for a move for some examples.  These types of things can be tedious on our minds, and the mental fatigue transfers to our physical body.

Set Goals

Setting goals helps stave off that fatigue or the feeling of mindlessness. To maintain a balance find a great starting point for your project. Simplify the project by breaking it into manageable "chunks" of time. Say if you have to read some technical information; set a timer for every 15 minutes to get a drink and stretch your legs then go back to reading the difficult material. Stay flexible and remember that goals can be changed, and they can be adjusted if you were too hard on yourself, to begin with.

Be Kind To Yourself

Judging yourself way too harshly for not finishing something will definitely put your project on the back burner or be pushed off to a work colleague. Part of the soul nourishment one faces is that we do have to embrace our failures.  Perhaps we did need help in a certain endeavor, and by facing our authentic selves, we will empower ourselves. After all, even the prettiest gardens have weeds.

Take A Deep Breath

Use the power of the pause, as mentioned above, will give you a few seconds to gather yourself and rethink or pursue the next step without having a bit of anxiety or despair over a project about to go wrong.
Do not start the negative self-talk that people often do and try not to ever strive for perfectionism, because these types of things only create anger and stress responses. Remember that our brains are emotional and are tied to our body responses. If you know how to meditate do that, or simply take slow deep breaths and return back to your project feeling a bit refreshed and ready to finish.

If you cannot pick up where you left off and are extremely frustrated please simply reevaluate your goals or start fresh the next day if you can. Putting again, that power of the pause to work. Just stay motivated and don't just give up on your passion, or your projects. Accepting your limitations and reevaluations may be how it has to be. Just remember to be kind to yourself and your next goal will be attainable.
