Are Travel Agents Still A Thing?

In 2019 it's so easy to simply go on your computer and book a vacation, spring break, or weekend getaway for yourself without the help of the travel agent. So are they still a thing? Yes, and they are quite in demand actually.  While the offices are few and far between, there are many reasons to use a travel agency.

Record numbers of people will be traveling this year (and have already), but travel itself is becoming more complicated as an industry.

A professional in the travel industry still has the "inside scoop" and the "knows where to find the deal of the lifetime".  The travel professional is a service just like it is when we go to the salon to get a manicure or hair cut.

Once called travel agents, they are now aptly called travel advisors or travel professionals. These people are on the inside of the industry, they will save you time, money, stress and be able to protect you.  They will help you avert any disasters that can happen if you personally book yourself into a one-star hotel that looked like a five star because the pictures were beautiful.

The travel professionals won't book you into that shabby hotel, or send you to the funky restaurant that gave you botulism or send your family-orientated trip into an inappropriate adult zone for the evening. Travel advisors will assist you and take that stress away. Industry insiders are given incentives that they can pass along. They can provide a family with a themed experience, or an adventure trip.  They are like travel concierges for an entire trip.

You may wonder how they know these things. They know because the majority of them travel and they go on the excursions that a destination will offer. They actually get out there, visit museums, discover destinations, they rate restaurants and hotels and airlines for performance and comfort.
They are the people that go to find the best travel experiences, the best prices, and they will help to make your best memories.

Travel professionals can shed light on tips on how to pack, the places to avoid, help you to secure proper travel documents, help you with money exchanges, phone usage, and how to utilize foreign public transportation to name a few.

Deadliest Record-Breaking Cold Weather Is Dangerous

I am currently one of those people in the path of this polar vortex weather, and I am not happy. Midwesterners are tough, rugged and live through a lot of weather extremes, however, what is predicted to come for the next two days is just dangerous. A little less than half of the North American continent has an extreme weather forecast right now and in the next week or so. Magnolias In My Kitchen Very Simple Flower Centerpiece

It's a very cold January day and not one glimpse of the sun is to be had. The ground is covered in snow and now there's even freezing drizzle/rain to add into making this a long winter's day. There's only one thing you can do is to bring warmth in, by way of flowers. I have these two magnolia stems sitting right near me, One has three blooms on it and one has two. They feel bright and remind me of summer. Those warm days where the car windows are down and the Grateful Dead are playing Sugar Magnolia on the radio.
