Wash Your Make Up Brushes

I cannot tell you how many times I have written an article regarding the cleanliness of makeup brushes. I will give you three guesses and the first two do not count, on who is the number one violator of her own words, that's right, me! Oh it's awful, because I get busy and like everyone else I forget to do it. I have sensitive skin and light to moderate rosacea so I am a prime example of those who can get skin irritation from filthy brushes. The brushes will not even apply makeup correctly if they are corroded and filled with makeup that is built up over time! There is a huge amount of bateria that will naturally also build up on your brushes from skin cells and pollution that is naturally or un naturally found on your skin. **Look how dirty mine are**
Especially that sponge applicator, By the way they truly are disposable and if they start to shred or come apart, they definitely need to be tossed. Now a lot of the top makeup gurus and dermatoligists say to wash make up brushes every 7-10 days. They also say it does help to maintain the stability of the brush hairs. There are also a ton of D.I.Y. recipes along with product that one can buy to clean your brushes with. Most agree that a home dish soap is the best at cutting grease and foundations that build up on bristles.
Here's a very easy recipe for the cleanser: 1 C.hot water 1 TBSP dish soap 1 TBSP white vinegar
Mix in a bowl. Take the desired brushes and run them gently under warm water so that you can loosen up terribly correded ones. Then take the brushes and one by one swirl them in the cleaner. Try not to get the brush handles and the brush holders wet because of the materials they may be made from, (i.e. wooden handles and metals that can rust)they could fall apart. Next knead gently with fingers and squeeze out more dirts and make up, if needed reclean again. I also dab them against paper towels to make sure any excess will come off. rinsing again and drying either flat on a towel or in a stand upright so brushes can fully dry.
This one will need more cleanser. Lastly to keep them in condition, I dap them in a bit of olive oil and rinse quickly for the final step. This helps the bristles and it also helps to repel more dirt.
Look how nice and clean these are now and this took only about a five short minutes to make the recipe and to clean each brush.
Even the handles are shiny and clean! Have any questions? If you do~ don't forget to send an email to beautyisabeast13@gmail.com
